Description
The 1996 Ford F150 line-up of transmissions offered quality options for every driving scenario, from low-speed driving to high-speed hauling. The 4.9L I6 (300 cubic inches) made 145 horsepower and was available with either the 5-speed manual for better driver handling or the E4OD 4-speed automatic, which delivered quick, efficient shifts for highway driving and long-distance driving.
The 5.0L V8 (302 cu in) which produces 185 horsepower was often offered with either the 5-speed manual transmission, for those that preferred more direct input when towing or rough terrain driving, or the E4OD automatic transmission, which gave a smooth and effortless drive with overdrive to help reduce gas consumption. The 5.8L V8 (351 cu in) that delivered 210 horsepower was available paired with the E4OD automatic for superior towing, or the rugged ZF 5-speed manual, which is ideal for navigating rough terrain and high loads.
